Hardly a market these days.
No change. The market as such doesn't exist. The area is being change by the Auckland project

It's ok to visit & look around but sadly alot of the shops have closed & just a couple of market stalls on the market place. Bishop Auckland was once a busy town but sadly it has declined over the past few year which is a shame. The soon to be opened shopping centre at Tindale hopefully can tease the shoppers back.

Bishop Auckland has had a lot of money chucked at it but it's never going to ever be the same
Talk of a new bus station in the town coming soon but when I visited it seemed very functional to me buses travelling forward and no dangerous reversing like it was in Durham
Very quiet is the town and in places very derelict and run down
Such a shame
Still remember the hustle an bustle but that's just a memory now
Wilko's closing
Sportsman pub closed
What next
But Mr Ruffer has tided up the town and invested and it shows
We just need the public to come back and get independent business get back and have a thriving town once again maybe for a different experience
